What this guide covers

How do I make a payment?

Below is a list of options that you can use to make a payment to your AvantCard Credit Card.

 Payment Method
What you need to know

 Telephone or Internet Banking

We have changed our bank account from AIB to CITI.  If you currently pay using this method please check your payment instruction to ensure you are using the correct CITI BIC and IBAN.

You will need to amend your payment instruction if it is not correct.

Payments which continue to be made using the AIB bank details could be delayed.

  1. You set this up through your own bank’s internet or telephone banking service.

Select AvantCard from the list of 'Billers' if available.

Alternatively you will need the following:

    • Our BIC which is CITIIE2X
    • Our IBAN IE90CITI99005117683012
    • Your 16 digit AvantCard account number which begins with 245.  This is different to your card number and must exclude any '000' if displayed at the start of the account number.  You will find this number on your statement.  Using any other information as a reference will result in your payment being returned.
  2. Allow 5 business days before your due date
  3.

 Direct Debit

  1. Select to pay minimum or full payment each month
  2. Payment will be credited to your credit card account on the payment due date

  2. Your minimum payment will change each month so ensure the amount is enough to cover the payment each month

 Paying by Cheque

We do not currently accept postal cheques as a payment method for your credit card

How can I avoid late payment charges?

A late payment default charge, as detailed in your terms and conditions, will be charged to your account if at least the minimum payment shown on your statement has not been credited to your account by the payment due date shown on that statement.

To find out your next payment due date, view your account summary in Online Banking - just log in or register. To make a payment online, select 'Payments' from the 'Your Account' tab.
Alternatively, you'll find details of your payment due date and amount on your latest official statement. In Online Card Services select 'Statements' from the 'Your Account' tab to view up to 36 months of statements online.

When choosing a payment method, please ensure you know how long it takes for the payment to reach your account - if your payment due date is soon, you should select a quicker payment method.
Why not set up a Direct Debit to make sure your regular credit card payments arrive safely and on time? See the Direct Debit section above for details.

What happens if I forget to make a payment?

As detailed in your terms and conditions, if you fail to make at least a minimum payment before the payment due date shown on your monthly statement, you'll be charged a late payment fee.

You'll also be charged an over limit fee if you exceed your assigned credit limit - any payment you make must cover the value of any over limit fee charged, plus any fees and interest.

You must make a payment each month unless there is no outstanding balance on your credit card account - your payment options are detailed above. Why not set up a Direct Debit to make sure your regular credit card payments arrive safely and on time?.
